Last Day Of Tech: W12 T2

Since this week is the last week of school for Term 2, this is our last day of technology. I completed a good amount of work over these few weeks and hopefully I get to continue my piece, when Term 3 begins. Through this process, I learnt many things about pewter casting. It was a cool experience!

Cybersmart Smart Footprint: 24Hour History

This is my 24 Hour Cybersmart Footprint, of all the websites I visited within 24 hours. For backstory; all these websites I visited are from most to least amount. Drive was somehow the most visited website and Tamaki College Library was the least.

TECH: Chromebook FIXED!

As my chromebook was finally repaired, that meant I could do my work at tech. What I did was easily transfer my information from the paper, to my chromebook.

During our time at tech, I kept a close eye to what the instructions were after we had finished writing our ideas. Hopefully next week I can start building up my way to complete my piece.

All About Saving Energy - W6

Tech: How To Save & Use Energy.
For this experiement we used salt water, two cups, four wires, siccors, low energy light bulb, screwdriver and a light switch. We paired with St. Pius as this required safety and help.

Firstly we cut half of the wire making sure some alluniman was left. Now we screwed our two wires into a light bulb contraption. Then we did the same to the light switch, again we made sure it was stiff so our wires wouldn't come out. We connected all our wires to the salt water and the results were...A BIG FAIL!

Mostly everyone in my group believed it was because of the salt since it's been there for about 3-4 years. I found this experiement enjoyable because it showed how much teamwork was needed. It was great seeing my group work together!

TECH: Sciene - Earthworms

For tech we discovered and learnt all about earthworms. Earthworms are essetinal than it looks like. Earthworms help to produce with the soil to make sure it's clean and healthy.
Actually when they're contributing it takes a lot of effort to roam around underground. Especially as there's a large amount of dirt surrounding you. Someday I hope everyone will look at earthworms
a different way!

Technology: LIGHT BULBS - W4

On Wednesdays the year 8's and 7's go to Tamaki College for technology. My group is doing science with Ms. Sharma. The last few weeks have been amazing because I learnt so many things about plastic, science and our upcoming topic, energy.

Last week we researched a lot about light bulbs and the power they hold wether it's good or bad. Next we took wires and connected them both to a light contraption. Kate and I were shocked. I hope this week will be more fascinating and interesting!

Starting Our Pieces...

Today at tech we started to create another design but only making our pieces for our game. All I did was simply ctrl+c to copy the shape, & ctrl+v to paste the shape onto a new platform. Next I decided to produce a new game using tinkercad again.
During the process of making my new game, I found out how to draw things using the scribble effect. I drew many things like animals, shapes, food etc. Liza and I had a competition to see
who was the best artist.

Back To... GRAPHICS!!💻

Yesterday at graphics we started to plan our ideas using Tinkercad. Before we could move on to designing, we had to make a google presentation of how we made our pieces.
For my first design, I made a pineapple using two shapes. It wasn't that difficult but, when coming to rotating the shape I needed a lot of help. Ms. Furgerson taught me how to rotate a shape. Thank you to her, now I know a lot more.

Here is a preview of what I'm doing for graphics :)
I'm still carrying on with this presentation.

The Start To Making 3D Games! -Graphics

This week for graphics we drew four designs that had 3D things to make it. First we were given a large paper and with that paper, we had to fold twice and start designing our 3D games.

Out of all the designs I drew today, my favourite design would probably be the chess board game. The chess board game would be my favourite because each chess piece are animal emojis. I was inspired by Miss Ferguson's emoji chess board game drawn on the whiteboard because she changed her pawns into poo emojis.

The Beginning of Graphics!

Today was the start to a new class at Tech since cooking class for my group is finished. Now for Tech we have Miss Ferguson and she will be teaching us graphics.

Our first session for graphics was to create a google drawing and import all of our favourite things as "png images". It was fascinating because looking at my friends google drawings, you could already tell which is their favourite.

Through the process I had a super great time learning graphics and I can't wait for today.

Goodbye Cooking Class!☹️

Today was our last day with Mrs Tuipolotu for cooking class. I was extremely sad because I learnt so many things during cooking class and now, finally I can cook for my family. For our last day at cooking class we cooked chocolate muffins.

The instructions were clear and simple which made me not as anxious that much. The hardest part in the process was folding the ingredients but not mixing it. Agueer taught me out to fold all of the ingredients inside the bowl. Now I know how to fold.

Finishing results amazed me because they turned out DELICIOUS! In the picture the green and purple cupcake liners are Agueer's cupcakes and the pink and yellow liners are mine. To top our beautiful muffins, we had the chance to whip whip cream on one of our muffins.

As soon as I tasted the chocolate muffin it was the best thing I've tasted at cooking class. It was the perfect meal to end off cooking class

Food Is Delicious!💛

Today at Tech we cooked chop suey.  I was thrilled to cook chop suey because now I can see what the process my dad has to go through when he cooks it.

The finishing results surprised me because Agueer and I did an amazing job for cooking chop suey for our first time! When I ate the chop suey it fizzled in my mouth, making my mouth very oily.

Macaroni & Cheese

It is now week five of Tech at Tamaki College. I have been very excited during cooking classes this term. For cooking class today the year 7's cooked macaroni and cheese.

During the process of cooking the macaroni and cheese, the macaroni was easier than cooking the sauce which was actually really confusing. The results for our macaroni and cheese was rated the cheesiest and best!

Another Scrumptious Cooking Lesson!

This is the second week at Tamaki College for Tech, and so far I have been enjoying cooking lessons with Mrs Tu'ipulotu. For this week my cooking partner is Faye.

During the development of cooking I learnt how to cut vegetables professionally and, I also learnt how to boil water using a stove. Once our meal was finished cooking, Faye served our scrumptious dish into separate bowls so that we could eat. Our meal looked like mashed potatoes but, we had cooked vegetable soup!

Awesome Films!

Last week on Wednesday Ruapotaka School went to Sylvia Park to see the Manaiakalani Films that other schools made. I had a awesome time taking photos of the Ruapotaka display. The Ruapotaka display looked amazing because of the pictures that were on it and the lights around the display. Also the films that Ruapotaka watched was great especially when my class's film was up on the big screen.

I enjoyed watching all of the movies but my favourite film was probably Tamaki College students trying Pasifika foods.  I have many Ruapotaka films that are my favourite but,  my favourite film from Ruapotaka school was all of them because they all had a meaning that showed in the film.

I had an amazing time going to Sylvia Park to watch the different films from different schools. It was a great time going to see the Manaiakalani Films!
