Māori Language Week! 🇳🇿

This week is Māori Language Week. During this week I learnt about the interesting myths and legends about the Māori history. Hopefully everyone tried their best to learn something/new things about this culture. I enjoyed this week a lot because on Friday the Y7's & Y8's performed a haka for the outro of Room 6's assembly.

Technology: Control // T3W9

During this term my group exchanged classes. So now we'll be doing "Control". Specifically this week we tried out this quiz game. Basically you have a time limit and in that time limit, you have to select the correct dots that relate to the mbot (the machine you see on the picture)
Here is my best score that I got while playing this game.

Researching About Sleep

For inquiry Room 7 are researching and learning about sleeping. Sleeping is a daily thing we all use in our lifes and is apart of our priority. We divded into groups and found out lots of facts and information to use in our shared slideshow. One interesting statement I thought suprised me was when I researched about "Why we move in our sleep?".

When sleeping our brainstem (the side of brain connecting to your spinal cord) sends signals to weaken muscles which move your body. These muscles are being hypnotized by the brainstem which makes your body controlled by the brainstem. *Let's hope that makes sense*

Tongan Language Week! 🇹🇴

Happy Tongan Language Week!! As today is the second to last day of Tongan Language Week, I hope everyone had a great experience learning this culture.  We couldn't really celebrate as much since of Covid-19 but it doesn't mean we cannot celebrate it. I saw many sight seeing posts of people performing a tau'olunga and many more.
Ko ha uike fakaʻofoʻofa ʻeni! (English Translation: It was a great week)

Back To School After Lockdown...

During W4 in 2.5% of that week, Auckland went into lockdown alert level: 3. When students went back home after school, it was annouced that we were going back into lockdown again. I was VERY shocked to hear but also happy.
Now that we're back in school...I've realised I should've enjoyed my lockdown while it lasted. I've spent many days waking up late and took that for granted. If we ever go back into lockdown again, I'll be sure to never regret anything.
