Kiwi Kids News- Police Issued Eviction Notices On Protesters Living At Ihumatao??

Auckland police have issued eviction notices to protesters living at Ihumatao. Ihumatao is a small settlement in South Auckland that has deep strong spiritual and cultural significance to New Zealand.

The dilemma at Ihumatao has been going on for years. An extensive building company wants to benifeit their land to build houses.

A group called SOUL has been living on the land preserving it: stopping the building development.

This latest move by the council and police is an attempt to sort out the situation. Enabling the housing process to begin.

Back To... GRAPHICS!!💻

Yesterday at graphics we started to plan our ideas using Tinkercad. Before we could move on to designing, we had to make a google presentation of how we made our pieces.
For my first design, I made a pineapple using two shapes. It wasn't that difficult but, when coming to rotating the shape I needed a lot of help. Ms. Furgerson taught me how to rotate a shape. Thank you to her, now I know a lot more.

Here is a preview of what I'm doing for graphics :)
I'm still carrying on with this presentation.

Kiwi Kids News- Name Change For Lake Tekapo?

New Zealand's most popular lake, Lake Tekapo is in for a name change. The reason being is because we have been spelling Tekapo incorrectly.

Mackenzie District Deputy Mayor, James Leslie says the lake's name is meaningless and the local council supports a change.
It's not exactly clear when the spelling for Takapo became "Tekapo". Te Runanga o Ngai Tahu says his tribe, whose traditional land have a hold within the lake. Places huge importance in place names and is to have them written and pronounced correctly!

Baking With ME!!

This Sunday I baked a vanilla & chocolate cake with the help from my mother. Before we could start the process, I had to prepare all the ingredients that were required in order to begin.
First Cake: Vanilla
There were a ton of easy steps that I had to do so, I didn't really have that much of a struggle. During baking the cake,it was very tough to whisk the batter since our electric mixer was broken.

Next Up: Chocolate
I always save the best for last. The instructions for the chocolate cake were highly complicated. Maybe because it's the best flavour..?

Finally at last the cakes were all done. I coated the two cakes with frosting and enjoyed our creation.  I had great feedback, probably my job should be a hometown bakery person?

Tamaki Estuary Clean Up..

Thank you to Frazer and his team for including Ruapotaka School on a trip to Tamaki Estuary, to pick up rubbish around the area.

Doing this will save our environment by creating a healthy and fresh place. This also helps by saving the animals by providing fresh water and clean nature.

My partners were Lolo and Maddy. A lot a plastic were seen lying in certain places.
What I thought was interesting was when I found an empty beer bottle stuck in between a tree curveIt was an definetly experiencing trip to participate in.  Remember when you see rubbish floating around, pick it up!
